Cutting on Action

Image
For my cutting on action film, I thought that a scene in which the student is late to turn in an assignment would be a good idea because through quick shots we could show his anxiety and rush. We found that the best place to record it would be in the school's library since it is ironically usually a calm place, in which people are not in a rush, and they also have computers for free use there. We asked for permission, and we started recording. We got the shots of the character looking for a computer. After that, I logged in to my account so William could make it as if he was doing his homework. We also set an alarm on his phone so we could pretend that that was the bell ringing for the next class. After we filmed all of the shots, I gathered it all on Premiere Pro, cut and edited it all together. Lastly, I added the title, credits, and background sound.    I think that the shoot types, their angles, and the acting for this project were pretty successful bec...

Basic Shots and Edit

For my first short film I started thinking about a story that can be done with few shots and be recorded in school, with a limited amount of actors, but still, have a meaning behind it. I came with the idea of a lone student making an orange their friend. Then I analyzed my settings and characters and all the shots I had to show, and I wrote each scene. After I planned everything, we got the camera and went out to film. William volunteered to be my actor, so we went to the cafeteria to record. After we recorded every scene, we went back to edit it. I gathered all the videos on Premiere Pro and cut and overlapped the shots. Lastly, I added the title, credits, and background song by Bensound.  It didn't come out as I expected, but I think it is entertaining for a first film. The overall look of the film could have been improved by fixing the camera positioning and angles. Although, I believe that the story and the editing were pretty successful in helping with the final result....

Why do I like films?

I enjoy films because they are very entertaining, and they help me disconnect from outside life and relax. Some of them are also very interesting because they teach us life lessons, and many times the characters can be relatable, helping us feel less alone.
